For customers who want something particularly special, artist Wayne Pate can be commissioned to design site-specific ceramic mural installations or custom ceramic artwork panels, including hand-painted options and those with 3D relief.
Commissioning original work is a collaborative process, melding your vision with Pate's artistic expression. It is more nuanced than simply ordering ceramic tiles. As such, it is important that clients are prepared to commit the time and budget necessary to engage in this process.
Please note, we don't hold samples that can be borrowed as each commission is unique. However, we do have a 4-piece terracotta and white panel available to view in our showroom.
Varies greatly depending on the project. As an indication, each panel of the 4 panel piece pictured is 50cm x 50cm.
They are up to ~4cm deep – although the base “tile” is about 2.5cm thick and the rest of the thickness comes from the design on the front. Each panel piece weighs ~13kg.
Ceramic Tile Care: Clean tile surfaces with a non-abrasive, mild and PH neutral cleaner. Neutral cleaners are devoid of acids, caustics, harsh fillers, or abrasives that could scratch the surface of the tile. Do not use abrasive cleaning pads, steel wool, metal brushes or scouring pads as these may scratch the surface of the glaze. Crackled tiles and tiles that will face regular wet use should be sealed after installation and periodically as needed.
