Frank & Faber won a British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) Award for their work on Number One Bruton, a boutique hotel in Somerset spanning a Georgian townhouse, a row of cottages and a Medieval forge. The project features our hand-painted tiles in a series of guest bathrooms.
To complement the property's historic character, designer Sarah Ellison specified our Series S Italian Decorative Tiles and Series S Italian Plain Tiles in a brushed finish for the showers. In this example, ‘Felce’ creates a focal point, with ‘Stripe’ softening the transition between the ivy pattern and the plain tiles. A custom-painted roll top bath echoes their chalky green (121) and White palette.
Sarah continued this look throughout the property for a sense of cohesion but varied the colours and motifs. Below, she paired ‘Lampone’ in White and shades of pink (7 and 357) with ‘Stripe’ and brushed plains in the lighter 357 hue.
Where the greens are cool and serene, the pinks feel warm and enveloping — a testament to the power of colour.
