Wisconsin Lake House
Shades of green set a serene tone in this 1920s vacation house, enveloped in trees on Crystal Lake in Wisconsin. Remodelling the kitchen, interior designer Katie Rosenfeld ensured the new space retained every ounce of bucolic charm.
Referencing the home’s surrounding woodland, Rosenfeld chose Balineum’s Ghianda tile for the kitchen backsplash — extending the installation to the ceiling and wrapping the cooker hood for a seamless finish.
Featuring oak leaves and acorns hand painted in each corner, it’s one of our favourite patterns in the Series S Italian Decorative tiles collection.
Cabinetry is painted Benjamin Moore Secret Path and the pantry in Essex Green to complement the tiles' leafy motif. See the rest of this project in Country Living magazine.

The terracotta tiles in this collection are hand made in Italy from local clay, before painting and firing in a family owned factory. Visible brush marks and subtle variance between tiles lend each one a distinct finish.
