Architects Suleïma Ben Achour and Antoine Lallement, collaborating as Studio Classico, transformed a top-floor apartment into a bedroom suite in Paris’ 19th arrondissement. The former kitchen has been reimagined as a bathroom, lined with our Series S Italian Decorative Tiles.
Anchoring one end of the bedroom, the architects turned the bathroom into a design feature by juxtaposing our Diamond pattern in black (C10) and white on the floor with Stripes in green (C631) and white on the wall to dado rail height. The combination draws the eye through the 20-square-metre room and creates a sense of depth, enhanced by the subtle variations of our hand-painted tiles. In the shower, Series S Plain Tiles in white give the eye a place to rest.
To divide without disconnecting the two spaces, the team commissioned custom millwork from Assemblage Atelier in water-resistant ipe wood, incorporating partially glazed partitions. The goal, they told Remodelista, “was to create a bedroom-bathroom-dressing suite in the manner of a hotel room.” To that end, the tiles’ green hue is echoed in drapery in the bedroom, while decorative wall lights lend the bathroom a more furnished feel.
